Economics and Art (An Interdisciplinary Teaching Idea)

Last week, I attended a guest lecture on using art to teach economics concepts.  I found the idea of using art in a class that typically has very little to do with art very intriguing.  Dr. Michael Watts from Purdue is responsible for the collection of slideshows and the website.  He apparently also has similar programs for economics and literature/drama/poetry (although, I’m not sure where to find the website for this).

Here is the website for economics and art.

I found that the idea has challenged the limits I set for what “works” in a typical classroom in a business college.  I hope you enjoy the fresh perspective!
