Should We Die More Quickly?

We are living longer.  But how are we living?  Are you sure you want to live longer in the condition projected for those extra years you seek?

Ezekiel Emanuel asked these questions in an article published 2 days ago in The Atlantic. He argues that he wants to die at 75. He is now 58, and the 17 year gap between current age and his desired demise certainly harms the credibility of his current target death.  Yet, his arguments are powerful.  It is hard to imagine any reader’s leaving the article unfazed.
