What’s Wrong with the Economy and Economists?

Thanks to Scott Brummel for making me aware of this one.

The events of 2007 and 2008 brought criticism to economists that was just as relevant in 1970 as it was in those more recent years, but the profession was effective in relegating critics to the junkyard where incompetents are housed.

The wonderful New York Review of Books recently sponsored a symposium with the title of this post

Professor Nelson in 10 minutes provides a point by point scathing critique of the way economists are educated and the consequent effect on their conclusions.

Thanks, Scott.
